Hornet men win big, women lose nail-biter

The SUNY Broome Hornets hosted the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers Saturday.

The Lady Hornets fell 63-61 as Danielle Conway's last second, potential game-tying shot found the side of the backboard.  Conway tied the game with the front end of a 1-and-1 but missed the second, the Cannoneers rebounded but stepped out of bounds.  Randi Conway's inbounds pass was intercepted, after a foul Alyssa Crosby sunk both free throws to take the final lead, prompting Danielle Conway's last second shot.

Danielle Conway scored 31 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 blocks, all game-highs.

In the second game of the double-header, the Hornet men went back-and-forth with Jefferson in the first half, but pulled away in the second winning 68-54.  Jaime Curtis scored a game-high 18 points while Adam Tillotson recorded a 12 point, 13 rebound double-double.
