New Jobs on the Way for Owego's Lockheed Martin?

Part of Congress' trillion dollar spending plan includes hundreds of millions of dollars for a program that will effect hundreds of jobs in the Southern Tier.

According to Senator Charles Schumer, the bill would include over $333 million dollars for the Air Force's combat search and rescue helicopters being built in part at Lockheed Martin's Owego plant.

The Owego plant's General Manager Dan Spoor thanked Schumer and others in Congress Tuesday for supporting the program.

Schumer estimates the project creates and maintains 250 jobs at Lockheed in Owego.
