New Year Brings More to the Gym

According to the University of Scranton Journal of Clinical Psychology, the number one New Years resolution for 2014 is to lose weight

Workers at Planet Fitness say they do see a large increase of members come January first. One employee said this year they were even getting increased traffic before the new year from people who wanted to get a head start on their resolutions.

"I'm seeing people come in even before the new year started to get going on it. We've had a big rush of memberships just recently. I think thats all due to the new year. 'Gotta get fit,' Diane Bailey Front Desk Rep. said.

According to the Journal of Clinical Psychology, only eight percent will actually achieve their new years resolution. However, 24% who make resolutions are 10 times more likely to attain their goals than people who don't.
