Former Employee of Owego-Apalachin School Charged with Grand Larceny

An employee in the Owego-Apalachin School District is accused of embezzling over $50,000 while she was treasurer of her union.

45-year-old Amy Wales was the treasurer of the Owego Apalachin Employees Association.

After a three month investigation, the Tioga County Sheriff's Office is charging Wales with taking the funds from Union Bank Accounts.

She is charged with grand larceny in the second degree. Wales was released on her own recognizance and will appear again in village court on December 17th.
