VINES Partners with Laveggio Roasteria for Fundriaser

People came together Saturday at a local coffee shop to bid each other out on unique recycled items.

Laveggio Roasteria hosted the VINES annual silent auction. VINES is a local non-profit that manages community gardens and agriculture in Binghamton. All items up for bid tonight were recycled from burlap sacks that coffee beans are shipped in. There was everything from laptop cases, to a covered stool, and even a giant scarecrow.

"You're donating and someone's bidding on that. So it's a really cool way to recycle and also support a local business," said Natalie Hughes, program assistant at VINES.

VINES also does a spring fundraiser with a banquet. All proceeds from this fundraiser go towards VINES and their summer youth program.
