Body Found on Airport Road in the Town of Chenango

A body was found in the Town of Chenango this morning.
According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, it responded to a call at 24 Airport Road around 9:30 am.

A hunter called 911 after he found what he thought was human remains in the woods. When deputies responded they found the remains about 200 yards from the road. The Broome County Coroner was also on the scene this morning to inspect the
findings.

"Doc Jones is the coroner, he's reviewed the dental records and some of the human remains that were collected, and he's confident that the remains that we found are those of Paul Terwilliger," Captain Fred Akshar of the Broome County  Sheriff's Office, said.

Fifty Five year old Terwilliger was released from county jail in May after being charged with sexual contact with a child in the first degree, a class B felony. He went missing shortly after his release, leaving a suicide note at his residence. Police became involved in the missing persons case on May 8th.. Foul play is not suspected, and the remains have been transported to Lourdes Hospital for examination.
