Preparing Your Car for Winter

Tuesday's snowfall was a reminder that it's the time of year to prepare your car for when the heavy stuff finally arrives.
First, make sure your car has a set of tires with appropriate tread by having either snow tires or all-terrain tires and make sure your tire pressure is set correctly.

There are also some items that you can carry with you in case you get stranded like a blanket, a pair of jumper cables and kitty litter.

"You could even carry a small bag of kitty litter that will help you with traction if you get into an area where you can't go. The kitty litter goes under the tires and gives you that added traction. If you get stuck that will help you get out of a place," said Honda Service Manager, Mike Lidell.

Lidell also reminds drivers to have a decent set of wiper blades and plenty of washer fluid.
