Willow Run Foods Running on Natural Gas

Willow Run Foods is running on natural gas.

The company Is rolling out new trucks that run on compressed natural gas.

A million dollar state grant was used for 15 new CNG trucks that will replace their diesel trucks.

They say the switch will help them by saving $100,000 dollars annually.  The trucks will be primarily be used for travelling to the New York City, Long Island area.

'It feels great. Willow Run Foods is pleased to help the environment to use alternative fuels in New York State and hopefully we'll be able to use these 15 tractors for a year or two and hopefully expand beyond that," said James Donovan the Vice President of  of Finance Willow Run Foods.

$850,000 dollars went towards the purchase of the CNG trucks, while $150,000 dollars went towards maintenance and garage upgrades.
