Rennia Responds to Opponents Endorsement

Democratic mayoral candidate Teri Rennia says that the Binghamton Police Benevolent Association has made decisions based on what they wanted to hear regarding a recent endorsement.

Republican Rich David received the official endorsement from the BPBA on Tuesday. Tennia says she wants to know how Rich David will pay for the 20 police officers he is proposing to add to the force.

She says from probationary to 20 years, the cost of hiring a single police officer would be nearly $2.6 million.

"You know they based their decision on what they wanted to hear. And what my opponent released in a public safety plan was not a comprehensive plan because we still don't know how he intends to pay for 20 officers," said Mayoral Candidate Teri Rennia.

Rennia says the city should be looking at improving technology and partnerships.
