Family and Friends Hold Vigil to Remember Murder Victim

Grieving family and friends gathered Saturday at the Martin Luther King Junior Memorial in Binghamton to remember murder victim, Sergio Beldo. Sergio's mother, Sharon Martinez organized the vigil held earlier this evening.

People gathered around the statue and read scriptures, lit candles and released balloons. Sharon said she wanted to give the community a chance to come together and honor her son's memory.

"I'm praying that something, even if it's one thing that I say today about my amazing son and how much he loved, will stir something in them. And give them the desire to put aside the anger, the fighting and the revenge. I don't wan't any revenge," Martinez said.

Twenty seven year old, Sergio Beldo was shot in Binghamton earlier this month. Police are looking for other suspects after arresting 21-year-old Trevis Johnson last week.
