Perry Found Guilty of Insurance Fraud

An Elmira native implicated in the disappearance of his girlfriend in Florida is found guilty of insurance fraud in Broome County.
49-year-old David Perry, a former state corrections officer, was found guilty of second-degree grand larceny, second-degree insurance fraud and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. All of the charges are felonies.

The trial is Perry's second on the charges. His first ended in a hung Jury in August.

Detectives in Pinellas County, Florida have named David Perry a suspect in the disappearance of police cadet Kelly Rothwell. He was Rothwell's boyfriend. Detectives say that Rothwell went missing on the same day she had planned to end her relationship with Perry.
