Main St. in Johnson City gets Facelift

Current Johnson City Mayor Greg Deemie continued his campaign for re-election, Saturday on Main St.
His primary focus today was on eliminating blight in Johnson City. A private investor has begun to renovate a handful of buildings on Main St. The buildings will provide space for businesses on the first floor and apartments on the upper floors.

"The people are what make the village so if we start bringing some more people down here, we start to bring revenue to the village. If there's people down here, the businesses will come because there will be people to shop and spend money. Until you have that you don't really have anything," Greg Deemie said.

With the current renovations and the Main St. grant, residents can expect to see a big change to main street in the next two to three years.
