What's it like to be a Journalist?

What's it like to be a journalist?

50 Binghamton and Ithaca high school students spent Friday learning what it's like to report the news at WSKG Public Media.  Tthis is the second year of the "Youth Voice" program

The students participated in three different workshops on Friday, interviewing each other in front of the camera, analyzing their voice for radio and learning how to use social media to spread the news.

"This is a chance for teenagers in our community to share about something that's important to them. That doesn't happen very often but when given the tools and the platform to share the things that they have to say are incredible," Annie Whitman Education Initiatives Coordinator for WSKG, said.

10-15 of the features students produce will be selected to air on WSKG.
