Child Safety Week

Today is National Seat Check Saturday and the last day of Child Safety Week.
Car seat checks were held across the greater Binghamton area to educate people just how important it is to make sure your children ride as safely as possible. One in four car seats are used improperly, and technicians can check and solve these problems to keep your children safe.

"Car seat safety is very important. The number one killer of children between one and thirteen in the nation is motor vehicle accidents. Child safety seats greatly can reduce that risk," said Brian Thorick, Vestal Police Department.
If you missed this week's car seat checks you can contact the Broome County Health Department, Vestal Police Department, or the Broome County Sheriff's Department to schedule an inspection.
