Walk to End Alzheimer's

Over five hundred people gathered this morning for the Walk to End Alzheimer's at Otsiningo park.

The community came together to raise awareness and to raise funds for support programs, services and research. The Alzheimer's association wants people to know that there is life after being diagnosed.

"I think knowing that every year we are taking one step closer to a world without Alzheimer's disease. My goal would be to put myself out of business. that I would have to find other work to be able to do. That we would have a cure for Alzheimer's disease. That's my goal," said Cathy James, CEO of the Alzheimer's Association of CNY.
Alzheimer's is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and can be a very isolating disease. Walks like this one help to build a giant support group for families dealing with Alzheimer's. This year's goal is to raise 77 thousand dollars for programs and services helping those who suffer from the disease.
