Local Priest Discusses Peace in Syria

As the debate continues on whether the United States should strike Syria Fox 40 talked with one local priest about what he thinks of the situation.

Fr. Jim Dutko of St. Michaels Church on Clinton St. is familiar with the situation in Syria and he says its people need help. But he does not believe that war is the answer. Dutko says there are plenty of  opportunities for humanitarian work in the country and organizations have already helped thousands of refugees.

He also has parishioners who are from the Middle East and he says they're worried about what may happen near their homelands.

"They're concerned about the potential for the situation that is horrific to become even more horrific and the idea of something triggering even more of a war is hardlypalatable to people."

Dutko says the world needs to find peace but he believes it wont be found through war.
