Town of Union 9/11 Memorial to Add Steel Beam Next Year

The Town of Union is moving closer to having a permanent place for a vital piece of it's 9/11 remembrance memorial but not in time for this September 11th.

The town has been given a steel beam from one of the towers which will be set in stone within the Town of Union Remembrance Garden within the next year. The land for this new memorial was dedicated last year but the beam was not set due to the continuing flood recovery.

"Our goal is that steel beam will be in its final resting place in the Town of Union next year for 9/11," said Town of Union Supervisor Rose Sotak.

The beam will be available for public viewing next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. during the remembrance ceremony at the Garden.
