AAA: Expected Increase in Labor Day Travel
8/29/2013 (Updated 11:23:37 PM)More people will be hitting the roads this Labor Day.
Officials from AAA say that travel will be up 4% compared to this time last year, even with the higher gas prices.
More than 34 million people are expected to be traveling this weekend.
"Well, it's been a long wet summer and most people are looking at a last opportunity to get out on a three day weekend. And the economy is a little bit better," said Richard Jacobs the president of Southern New York AAA.
Drivers are reminded to be patient because it's still construction season. Check over your vehicle before your travels, and make sure there are plenty of snacks and entertainment to keep the kids busy if you're traveling with the family.
