Two Week Manhunt Leads to Arrest of Chemung County Man

A fugitive being hunted for almost two weeks is back in Chemung County, in custody, after his arrest in Broome County Tuesday night.

Video shows Robert Rouille's arrival at the state police barracks in painted post Tuesday night, following his arrest in the Town of Chenango, earlier in the evening, near the Spot Diner on Front Street.

Fox 40 was on the scene Tuesday night at a local trailer park, as federal marshals and other agencies closed in and arrested Rouille, after a 25 minute stand-off with authorities.

He had barricaded himself inside a trailer, occupied by a woman and child, who got out without injury.

Rouille was wanted for attempted armed robbery and assault in Southport two weeks ago.

Authorities described him as armed and dangerous. A federal marshal tells Fox 40 that Rouille has also been convicted on murder. He was not armed Tuesday night, when arrested at the trailer park near the Spot Diner.
