Railroad Worker Dies in Town of Colesville

A railroad worker is dead after he was electrocuted while on the job in the Town of Colesville.

State police say a 39-year-old Thomas F. Tarchak of Simpson, PA,
a Canadian Pacific railroad employee, was inspecting a bridge when the bucket truck he was in came in contact with a NYSEG primary wire.

Officials say Tarchak was obtaining bridge measurements under an elevated train track in a high lift when the lift came in contact with NYSEG power lines causing Tarchak to be fatally electrocuted.

State police expect an autopsy to reveal he died instantly.The investigation is continuing.
