Severed Pig's Head Left Near Muslim Mosque

Reaction,  as a severed pig's head was left near a mosque being constructed on Sheedy Road in Vestal.

The building will serve as a community center and mosque for the Muslim community.

The head was found early in the day on Sunday and was removed by Sunday evening.

President of the local Muslim community Afzel Rehman says that he's actually not concerned with the person who did this.

"What we are doing is building a house of God. And they should treat it as a house of God. And if they have any bad intentions towards the house of God that is between the two of them," said Ahmadiyya Muslim Community President Afzal Rehman.

The mosque is expected to be completed in April of next year. Afzal Rehman also states that they have been a part of the community for many years and are known as a peaceful wing of Islam.
