Kids at Kopernik Observatory Learn about Weather

Children at Kopernik Observatory's Solar System Summer Camp learned about weather from a special guest Monday.

Fox 40 Meteorologist Kate Thornton was at Kopernik to help mold the next generation of meteorologists.

She taught them not only about weather but about being on television as well.

And no offense to Mick, the kids were so excited to learn safety tips from one of the best in the business.

"I learned where to take shelter and what to do in case of an earthquake, or flood, or tornado, or a thunderstorm," said Travis Raynor, 5th grader.

"I thought she was an amazing speaker and I wish I could speak as clear as her when I do a presentation of any kind," say Kyra Zopff, 7th grader.

After Kate's presentation many of the kids said they now want to be meteorologists meaning a lot more competition for our buddy Mick.
