Deja vu at the Dick's Open?

APALACHIN -- A sudden death double playoff determined who would qualify for the Dick's Open on Monday at The Link's at Hiawatha.

Sonny Skinner, Jeff Freeman, and Greg Bruckner all shot 68s and then parred on the 17th hole in the first playoff. The trio played 18 and after the dust had settled, both Skinner and Freeman advanced.

When asked about his accomplishment, Freeman cited good friend and 2012 champ Willie Wood as his inspiration. Wood won the qualifier last year and went on to have a great week.

"I think I parked in his parking spot that he had last year, so I said to my wife I think it'd be a good omen if we shoot a 68 and get in this thing and win it," Freeman said.

Freeman and Skinner will join Danny Edwards, Jim Carter, and Tom Byrum as the five golfers who qualified for the DSGO this weekend.
