Geno Smith has another impressive day at camp

CORTLAND -- From an onlooker's perspective, it appears as though the quarterback competition at Jets Training Camp is heating up... or cooling down, depending on how you look at it.

Rookie Geno Smith had another solid day of practice Wednesday, going 5-6 though he was sacked twice. His competition, Mark Sanchez threw his second interception of camp today and went just 3-10.

For now though, even with the Green and White scrimmage approaching this weekend, Head Coach Rex Ryan is letting his two QBs split time with the first string offense.

"We're rotating every two days who's running with the ones. We'll see. I haven't really even talked to Marty (Offensive Coordinator Mornhinweg) about specifically the Green White, so I really haven't talked to him about that yet," Ryan said Wednesday afternoon.

Geno Smith spoke about his performance thus far, "We've still got many practices ahead and I've got to continue to stay on that and stay disciplined in my reads."

The Green and White scrimmage is Saturday at 6 PM in Cortland.
