Jets being careful with Milliner

CORTLAND -- When the Jets announced they'd signed first round pick Dee Milliner, Antonio Cromartie tweeted that he's happy the secondary is complete, but come ready to work, rookie.

The first year cornerback had his first practice Wednesday, but spent his time on individual drills as he recovers from a shoulder injury. Milliner and the Jets don't want to rush anything, so the rookie is taking it all in with advice from his elders and his coach is a-ok with that.

When asked about day one, Milliner said, "I just did a couple walk-throughs to get out there so I could get some hands-on and know what I'm doing. So I worked with (Antonio Cromartie) and Kyle and the other veterans, just teaching me."

Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan added, "We're doing things on the side with our trainers, doing some extensions where he is using his hands and his arms and stuff like that. We'll progress him."
