Five Dead in Crash of Helicopter which Departed from Tri-Cities Airport

Identities of the victims have not been released, but Fox 40 News has confirmed that five people perished in a helicopter crash in Pennsylvania, after the craft left from the Tri-Cities Airport in Endicott Saturday night.

Wreckage of the helicopter was spotted Sunday afternoon, in Noxen Township, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, in a wooded area, near a wind farm.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Control Tower lost contact with the helicopter around 10:30PM Saturday.

The helicopter went down during bad weather.

State Police in the Tunkhannock Barracks were handling the case initially, but later told Fox 40 news that all information would be coming from the Federal Aviation Administration, which is investigating the cause of the crash.

Fox 40 will have more details as they become available, both on this website, and on our newscasts at 6 and 10PM.
