Binghamton Elks Lodge Raises Funds to Help Children

BINGHAMTON -- The Binghamton Elks Lodge opened its doors to the public tSaturday in hopes of helping area children.

Dozens of families came out for the lodge's Second Annual Carnival to have some fun-- and learn more about the organization. organizers say the lodge is more than just a place for swimming and golf-- it is also a place that brings families together and invests in programs to keep kids healthy and drug-free.

"Our main purpose is to open up the lodge for the community and let them know we can do nice things here for kids. We give out scholarships and those kinds of things to the community and we have dart leagues, horseshoe leagues, and it's a great place to come and meet new people," said Organizer Crystal Stone.

Organizers say the hope to raise over a thousand dollars from the event.
