Kenyon Conviction Upheld

The conviction stands for the 52 year old Johnson City man convicted in the death of his girlfriend.

William Kenyon got 25 years to life after he was convicted of First Degree Manslaughter in the death of 46 year old Kelly Westcott.

He was found to have caused her death by asphyxiation. Kenyon wanted his conviction overturned by the State Appellate Division in Albany.

He argued that his statements to police should have been tossed out,  that he had ineffective counsel, and that there was not enough evidence for jurors to return a manslaughter conviction.

Kenyon was accused of killing Kelly Westcott in her Floral Avenue Apartment in Johnson City in 2009.
