George Zimmerman Trial Protest in Binghamton

Another March on Thursday to protest the verdict of the George Zimmerman trial.

Students from Binghamton University's Confronting Racism Coordinating Committee organized the rally in front of the federal court house in downtown Binghamton before marching through the city streets.

Protesters say they hope the Department of Justice will file civil rights charges against Zimmerman.

They say right now they want to raise awareness of the racism that still exists in the United States.

"That's all I can really hope for. I don't think that racism will end overnight if one person is put into jail because it's a societal problem. It's a society issue," said Jenny Keys of BU's Confronting Racism Coordinating Committee.

Attorney General Eric Holder says the Department of Justice is determining whether civil rights charges will apply.
