Benefit for Local Man with Leukemia

KIRKWOOD -- Family and friends come out to help a Kirkwood man in need Sunday.

The group hosted a fundraiser for Kevin Gorman, in his 40's, who has been recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  The Kirkwood Fire Station hosted a spaghetti dinner to raise money for Gorman's medical costs.  He is currently undergoing treatment, and family members have been working hard to help him.

"Right after he was diagnosed, we all met together the following week at my sisters so we could all get together and decide were doing a fundraiser lets try to get what we can. We sold over One-Thousand dollars worth of tickets just in the first event. Then we went around asking everybody in the community what they thought and everybody wanted to help of course," said Gorman's sister Lauri-Ann Gorman-Martin.

This is the second fundraiser the family has held for Gorman.  They hope to raise over a thousand dollars.
