Ukranian Festival in Endicott

ENDICOTT -- The Ukranian community brought a tasty tradition to Endicott Saturday.

Hundreds got to try special foods at the annual Ukranian Festival.  It is one of the Sacred Heart Ukranian Church's biggest fundraisers. On the menu were thousands of pierogis.  Also at the festival was beer imported from a brewery in Ukraine.

"Our small area, the triple cities, has many many festivals which are very active. You have the Greek, Italian, and of course the Ukrainian Festival. It's a way of people getting to know that there are cultures in the area and what their foods are and some people like it and come all summer long," said Father Teodor B. Czabala Jr., Pastor of Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church

The festival will continue Sunday from noon until eight.
