Residents weigh in on "Re-Union Project 2020"

TOWN OF UNION -- With recent flooding in surrounding counties, it's a painful reminder for Town of Union residents who are still recovering from the 2011 floods.
A public forum for the "Re-Union Project 2020" was held at the Town of Union Town Hall Monday evening.  The project is using the 2006 and 2011 floods as a reference to better prepare for future natural disasters as well as help with those still recovering.

"We heard some of that frustration, but I think what we also heard was a strong investment in the community by people who want to rebuild their homes, rebuild their businesses and see good things happen here.  Hopefully we continue the responsibility we have to communicate with people as they go through a life changing and really difficult experience," said Margaret Irwin, Principal, River St. Planning and Development.
There will be another public forum Tuesday night to discuss options to improve parks and recreation in the Town of Union.
