The American Red Cross Provides Supplies for Flood Victims

ENDICOTT -- The American Red Cross has spent the past few days distributing supplies to victims of recent flooding in nearby counties.

Bulk distribution sites were set up in Herkimer, Sherburne, and Oneida Counties. Hundreds of families picked up hot food, medical supplies and cleaning supplies.

American Red Cross representatives say they are making progress.  More families have been able to move back into their homes because of the help they've received.

"We've been very busy in the middle of our region. Herkamer, Oneida, Utica up that way. They have really experienced a tremendous amount of flooding. It's a very traumatic, very emotional event to go through so we're working together as a region to help support the individuals who have been affected," said Shelley Bierwiler, Executive for Southern Tier Red Cross.

If you would like to donate to the Red Cross, you can visit their website at Redcross.org or call them at 1-800-Red-Cros.
