B-Mets host 1st annual Hot Dog Eating Contest

BINGHAMTON -- What's Fourth of July weekend without a barbecue? Or at least, without a hot dog eating contest?

The B-Mets held their first annual Hot Dog Eating Contest on Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium, where contestants were given trays full of hot dogs and five minutes to eat as many as they could.

The Hot Dog Horse was on hand to get contestants ready. There was also plenty of water on the table as the contest began, with contestants housing hot dogs.

Some did the old dip them in water trick and they had a great time.

When all was said and done, the winner had eaten nine and a half hot dogs.

BU student Fleming Browning, the champion, described how he felt afterwards, "I'm really full. I've got a stomach ache. It's worth it though. The first annual champ. I'm the first. It feels good."

There were ten competitors.
