Kids Hunt for Treasure at Ross Park Zoo

BINGHAMTON -- It was all hands on deck Saturday at the Ross Park Zoo.

Hundreds of families came out to search for buried treasure all across the zoo.  The "Pirates of TorZOOga" scavenger hunt was designed to give kids a unique look at the exotic animals around them, including leopards and red pandas.  The kids solved riddles to get from one animal to the next.

"It's just another event to get some people into the zoo and see what we are doing for our Re-zoo-venation process. We know that kids love pirates and dressing up for it and it's just a fun day to get out, we do a scavenger hunt for them to do just to learn about some more of the animals that we have here," said Rachel Davenport, Special Event Assistant at the zoo.

As part of the "Re-zoo-venation," the park is planning to add more animals to the zoo.
