Black Bear Sighting At Arnold Park

Visitors to Arnold Park in Vestal got an unexpected surprise.

Vestal police say they received numerous calls around 4:40 Friday afternoon saying a black bear was roaming around the park. They say people were concerned but the bear didn't appear to be aggressive.

Animal Control responded and the bear made its way back into the woods

Officials say the summer brings more bears out into the park looking for food in the garbage cans.  They say black bears generally aren't aggressive but if you see one, move away and give police a call.
