Ithaca Man Arrested for Alleged Meth Use

NANTICOKE-- An Ithaca man is sent to jail for allegedly using meth in the presence of his young son.

34-year-old Nicholas Faiella was arrested Saturday night, after Broome County Sheriff Deputies found him in a corn field in the Town of Nanticoke.  Deputies responded to a trespass complaint at about 9:10 p.m.  Faiella was caught in his car,  in the field.

Police say Faiella was seen injecting what they determined was methamphetamine into his arm with a hypodermic needle-- all while his 2-year-old son was also in the car.

The child was turned over to his mother.  And Faiella was remanded to the Broome County Sheriff's Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 cash bond.
