Golfers putt to "Make-A-Wish" come true

JOHNSON CITY -- Over one hundred golfers tried to make wishes come true one swing at a time in Johnson City Monday afternoon.
Despite the rain, 128 golfers took part in the Make-A-Wish Open at Traditions at the Glen.  Proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central New York which will grant 90 wishes to kids in 15 counties battling serious illness.  Fourteen of those wishes will be granted in the Southern Tier.

"Basically, we need it. Unfortunately there's a lot of kids out there that we need to grant wishes for so we need as much money as possible," said tournament co-chair Beth Shumaker.
Organizers were hoping the tournament would raise over $30,000 for Make-A-Wish of Central New York.  The average cost of a wish is $9,000.
