Second Annual Conklin Community Day

CONKLIN -- The extensive damage of the 2011 floods has inspired the Town of Conklin to celebrate their progress every year.

The Second Annual Community Day gave residents a chance to enjoy free face painting, race car rides, and food.  Conklin is home to nearly 100 businesses.  And organizers say the event gives residents a chance to appreciate what the town has to offer.

"The purpose is to raise awareness, gather us all together, have fun without costing anything.  It's very enjoyable to be here today," said Coordinator Elizabeth Einstein.

Money from the raffles will go towards a new Veterans Memorial site, next to the Community Center.
