Siena Poll: New Yorkers More Confident
6/5/2013 (Updated 11:01:06 PM)Consumer confidence soared nationwide last month --New York's climbed as well, but not by nearly as much:
The latest Siena Research Poll shows that the nation's index of consumer confidence increased 8.1 points in May. In New York State, it increased by 3.3 points.
Gains in confidence were biggest among Upstaters--but overall, downstate residents were more optimistic.
The survey shows that New Yorkers are more confident both in their current economic situation and in their future outlook.
It's only the second time since July of 2007 that there's been a boost among New Yorkers in both those areas.
