Sex Offender Found, Arrested in Town of Union

A registered sex offender on the state's 100 Most Wanted List was arrested in the Town of Union.

Jerry Hopkins, 52, of no permanent address, was found early Tuesday morning in a wooded area off Riverside Drive following a search of several homes.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office says Hopkins had violated conditions of his parole.

He was released from prison in early May. He was on parole for a burglary and attempted sexual abuse.

Hopkins was taken into custody without incident. He's locked up in Broome County Jail, awaiting a parole hearing.
