Lupardo's Constituents Weigh In On Fracking

The results are in and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo says most of her constituents don't want the state to move forward with fracking - at least not right now.

Lupardo says 25 percent want to continue the state's moratorium while 32 percent want a ban on drilling. This opposed to 34 percent who want the state to start fracking now.

Lupardo says, like the rest of New York, she's waiting for the state's health department to finish it's health review of fracking

"We are all on hold waiting for the Health Department to come to some conclusion and honestly both sides are confused as to what they are up to. And I'm also in the dark," said Lupardo.

Other results from Lupardo's survey: 62 percent of her constituents support the state's raising the minimum wage from $7.25 to $9.00 an hour, and 59 percent would like to see Tioga Downs become a full-scale casino.
