Broome County Parks Open

COLESVILLE -- Don't let the dark clouds and winds fool you-- it's still the time of year to head to the park.

Broome County Parks opened for the season Saturday.  Visitors can again enjoy swimming, boating, hiking, and picnics.  Officials at Cole Park tell us they barely saw anyone come out because of chilly temperatures.  But that didn't stop some out of towners.  One family came all the way from Queens, New York to enjoy the park's atmosphere.

"Coming out of the city, coming out of Queens to Binghamton, it's awesome, it's great.  So many parks, so many lakes, so many places to fish.  It's very nice and quiet, peaceful," said Alfonso Zhicay of Queens, NY.

All County Parks will be open from 8 AM to dusk daily through Labor Day.
