B-Mets win streak comes at perfect time

BINGHAMTON -- The B-Mets completed their first sweep of the season last night and have a 2013-best four game win streak going into this weekend's series at Portland.

It could not have come at a better time for Binghamton, who has a losing record this year against the Sea Dogs. Manager Pedro Lopez says the accomplishment is a great morale booster.

"It's not only the sweep. It's trying to get on a roll here, trying to win a couple ball games. That's just really important. We are going over to Portland and they're playing well. They've got a pretty good team and it's extremely important to just win a couple games in a row," said the skipper.

Binghamton and Portland open their series at 6:00 Friday.
