Ed Hickey Holds a Meet and Greet at Cheri Lindsey Park

The man considered the "dark horse" in the race for Binghamton mayor was out looking to connect with voters this Saturday.

Republican Ed Eickey held a meet-and-greet and voter registration drive at Cheri Lindsey Park.

Hickey, owner of the Belmar Pub, will be facing Rich David in the Republican primary.

Hickey said he wants to be the candidate who represents those residents he thinks are overlooked:

"I have an idea of what the city needs. The kids need to get involved the elderly and seniors need to become part of the city that they built," said Hickey.

Hickey describes his campaign as a grassroots effort. He says he plans on holding more of these voter registration drives in the coming months.
