Rotary Celebrates 100 Years

A centennial celebration for members of the Binghamton Rotary Club Wednesday night.

Rotary 64 celebrated 100 years of service at the Riverwalk Hotel in Binghamton.

90 members from the community make up the club who's mission is service above self. Organizers say the celebration has a dual purpose.

"It's important to appreciate our history and all that is going into building this club into a strong club, but also to recognize that going forward we have a lot of work to do if we're going to measure up to the past.  So that's inspiring for us I think," said David Goulin, Rotary 64 member.

As part of its centennial celebration, the club is working on four projects including awarding a $15,000 grant for the completion of a spray park in Columbus Park, and a $12,000 donation to the Binghamton YWCA.
