A Gluten Free Menu For Celiac Awareness Month

Eating out is a challenge for many of you with food restrictions. but one local restaurant is trying to change that.

The Lost Dog Cafe in Binghamton is offering new gluten-free specials everyday as a part of Celiac Awareness Month.  Gluten-free chocolate tarts, rigatoni, and shrimp salads are just some of your options.

Store owners say they have seen an increased demand for gluten-free food in the past few years.

"They don't want to feel like they're different.  They don't want to be the odd man out because they can't have a fun dessert.  So the more people can feel they're blending in, that makes them happy," said Marie McKenna, owner of the Lost Dog Cafe.

This awareness campaign is called "Chef to Plate," and it is created by the Gluten Intolerance Group.
