Airport Road Fire Destroys Structure

A structure on Airport Road in Endicott was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternood.

The blaze happened near 326 Airport Road.  Thre were no reported injuries.

It took a number of crews,  including West Corners, West Endicott, and Campville a half hour to extinguish the flames.

"We went on a defensive mode because there was no sense trying to go into the fire building. We just protected the exposures and eliminated that threat and used a large amount of water to douse the main fire," said Assistant Fire Chief of West Corners, Mark Loveland.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
