Energy For Life Walkathon

Walking for those who can't.

That's what brought hundreds out to Otsiningo park on Saturday for the Energy For Life Walkathon.  Participants were taking steps to raise money for people suffering from mitochondrial disease.

"Tyler's Crew" was just one of the teams in the crowd.  The disease can cause fatigue and inability to walk- and the teams goal was to raise awareness of the disease.

"He is so adorable and irresistable.  I feel like he had a lot of potential to do things in life, so I'm here for him," said walker Emily Pierce.

"It's nice to see people coming out for a disease that's not well known, like the cancers," said Walkathon Co-chair Lisa Wilson.

All funds will be donated to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation which supports research for better treatments and to find a cure.
