J.C. Struggling to Trim 9 Million from Budget
4/2/2013 (Updated 10:52:42 PM)Tight municipal budgets continue to worry mayors, supervisors and other elected officials.
In Johnson City Tuesday night, Mayor Greg Deemie and the village board continued to discuss how to trim, cut, and control costs-- to whittle the proposed budget down by nine million dollars. But, he says it won't be easy:
"We've gone through pretty much all of the departments and we've just been cutting through it. We've gone through all the funds and working on cutting it down to as much as we can to the best of our abilities," said Deemie.
A public hearing on the budget was planned for April 9th.
